Participant policy

Accounts and registration
Students from every major and experience level are welcome. You do not need a team or a finished idea to apply.
New public accounts require a .edu email address or an approved school email domain. Existing accounts and valid staff invitations are exceptions. The interest list does not require a school email address.
Creating an account does not guarantee admission or complete external event registration. Follow the application, admission, and registration requirements for your event.
Conduct
Follow the MLH Code of Conduct and applicable venue and event rules. Contact an organizer about conduct concerns. For an immediate emergency, contact emergency services.
Consent and minors
Review the consent terms and required documents in your event application, including the minor-consent form when applicable. These requirements must be completed as directed before participation.
The application explains MLH data sharing and any optional marketing choices. This policy does not replace the consent forms or grant a media release. Contact us about photography or consent concerns before attending.
Travel support
Travel support has separate eligibility, verification, and deadline requirements. All requests remain subject to approval.
